With over 90 distinguished speakers from Greece and abroad, ITC 2026 – 9th Infrastructure and Transport Conference will take place on September 28, 29, and 30, co-organized by the websites ypodomes.com and metaforespress.gr.
This year’s conference is expected to attract over 2,000 delegates, while online visits are estimated at around 11,000.
On Monday, September 28, at 20:00, the Opening Gala will be held at the Megaron Athens International Conference Centre, Banquet Hall. This is a closed event, intended for speakers, sponsors, and supporters of the conference, during which the opening remarks will take place, with the participation of senior officials from the Greek government.
Earlier the same day (September 28), four online panels will be held from 10:00 to 14:00, mainly involving institutional stakeholders from the two sectors.
On Tuesday, September 29, and Wednesday, September 30, the main sessions of ITC 2026 will take place at the Megaron Athens International Conference Centre (Banquet Hall), featuring -as already mentioned- over 90 speakers, 2,000 delegates, and 18 exhibitors.
Infrastructure Day Program (Tuesday, September 29)
The Infrastructure Day at ITC 2026 begins with an opening address and the screening of the official video for this year’s conference.
Three panel discussions will follow, titled:
“The major projects of the Hellenic Growth Fund“. Featured guests include the Deputy CEO of the Hellenic Growth Fund, Panagiotis Stampoulidis, and representatives from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and engineering consulting firms.
“Water, climate crisis, and the need for new infrastructure to protect against extreme phenomena“. Guest speakers are the Special Secretary for Hydraulic Works and Buildings, Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, Charalampos Mygdalis, the CEO of EYDAP, Haris Sachinis, along with representatives from relevant companies.
“Reshaping cities: In the era of ‘green’ construction“. Speakers include representatives from real estate investment companies as well as industry representatives.
After the first break, we continue with the panels
“Energy and an interconnected Greece – Is Greece’s role as an energy hub feasible? Fireside chat“. Invited are the Deputy Minister of Energy, Ministry of Environment and Energy, Nikos Tsafos, and the Chairman & CEO of IPTO, Manousos Manousakis.
Then the “STRATEGIC PROJECT OF THE YEAR 2025 Special Award” will be presented, going to the Attica–Crete Electrical Interconnection.
The award will be received by IPTO, representatives of the construction companies and the Ministry of Environment and Energy as the competent ministry.
Next is the panel “New infrastructure projects and financing – From the NSRF to PPPs, the mix for project implementation is changing“. Invited are the General Secretary of Infrastructure, Dimitris Anagnopoulos, the President of TMEDE, Konstantinos Makedos, the General Secretary for Management of Sectoral Programs of European Regional Development Fund, Cohesion Fund and European Social Fund, Vasilis Siadimas, as well as an engineering firm representative.
After lunch, the following panels will take place:
The “Constructions’ Roundtable”, with participation from top executives of Greece’s leading construction groups and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport. Invited guests include the Infrastructure and Transport Minister, Christos Dimas, the president of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE), Giorgos Stasinos, and representatives from the four major construction groups.
The ‘PROJECT OF THE YEAR 2025’ Award, which concerns the Patras – Pyrgos highway.
The award will be received by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport as the contracting authority and implementing body, Olympia Odos as the concessionaire and the construction companies, members of the J/V “APION KLEOS”, TERNA, AKTOR and AVAX.
“The contribution of highlighting the country’s cultural heritage in major infrastructure projects – Fireside Chat“. Featured guest is the Minister of Culture, Lina Mendoni.
“Data Center development in Greece: Challenges and opportunities in the light of energy sufficiency”. Invited are representatives of companies.
Infrastructure Day closes with the panel “Traffic file: The major projects that will contribute to alleviating the problem“. Guests include the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, responsible for infrastructure issues, Nikos Tachiaos, the CEO of Elliniko Metro, Christos Fafoutis, alongside company and engineering consultancy representatives.
The first day concludes with the Cocktail Meet & Greet event, held in the exhibition area from 17:30 to 19:30.
Transport Day Program (Wednesday, September 30)
Transport Day at ITC 2026 begins with the opening address and the screening of the official conference video, followed by a discussion with the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, Vassilis Kikilias.
Panel discussions to follow:
“The reconstruction of the greek port industry: The critical role of ferry services, cruise, ports and shipyards”
“Air Transport in Greece: Challenges, Connectivity and Competitiveness in a Changing Environment”
Then, the “Company of the Year in Transport – 2025” Award will be presented.
After the first break, there will be a discussion with the Deputy Minister of Transport, George Kotsiras.
